Accessibility statement
EUCARIS wants everyone to be able to use the website www.eucaris.net, including people with a disability. This statement explains how accessible the website is, what we have done to improve it and how you can report a problem.
Scope
This statement applies to the website www.eucaris.net, including the EUCARIS Dashboard and the downloads published on it. It does not apply to the EReg-EUCARIS intranet or to websites of other organisations that we link to.
Standard
We test the website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. These guidelines are the basis of the European standard EN 301 549, which public sector websites in the Netherlands must meet under the Dutch Temporary Decree on Digital Accessibility for Government (Tijdelijk besluit digitale toegankelijkheid overheid) and the European Web Accessibility Directive (EU) 2016/2102.
Compliance status
Status C: first measures taken. The website partially meets WCAG 2.2 level AA. A complete and thorough audit by an independent expert that is less than three years old is not yet available. The reports of the 2024 accessibility scan are available on request through the contact page.
Measures taken
- The website was rebuilt in October 2026 as a static website with semantic HTML, a logical heading structure, landmarks and a skip link.
- All functions can be operated with a keyboard. Menus open with a button and close with the Escape key, and the keyboard focus is always clearly visible.
- Text and interface elements meet the contrast requirements. Pages can be enlarged to 400% and read on a screen of 320 CSS pixels wide without scrolling horizontally.
- The maps on the EUCARIS Dashboard are also available as tables with the status per country, so information is never given by colour alone. Automatic updates of the dashboard can be paused.
- Links to documents state the file type and size.
- Before publication, every version of the website is automatically tested with axe-core against WCAG 2.2 level AA, validated as HTML and checked with keyboard tests.
- The website does not use cookies, tracking or content from third parties.
Known limitations
- Older PDF, Word and Excel documents and download packages were created before these measures and may not be fully accessible. Contact us if you need a document in an accessible format.
- The colours of the dashboard maps are supplied by the EUCARIS monitoring service. The same information is available in the table below each map.
Planned measures
- Have the website audited by an independent accessibility expert and update this statement with the results.
- Replace older documents with accessible versions when they are revised.
